What they do

Sussex Air Conditioning & Heat Pumps works from Farrington Enterprise Estate in Peacehaven, and names Brighton and Hove first in the towns it covers across Sussex. It is a family-run firm and the sister company of Pryor Building Services. The company was incorporated in September 2012, which is 14 years ago. The site claims over 20 years, so the two don't line up.

It installs wall-mounted, floor-mounted, multi-split, ducted and ceiling cassette systems, plus air to air heat pumps, for homes and businesses, and does servicing, maintenance and refrigeration. It names Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric and Fujitsu, and Samsung on commercial work. Every quote starts with a free site survey, and the site says it can usually book one within the week. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Credentials

F-gas: the site says "REFCOM registered", but a REFCOM register name search on 10 October 2026 did not return this company. A different firm, Sussex Aircon Solutions Limited of Uckfield, is on the register; it is not this one. The Quidos register couldn't be searched by us. The site also says every engineer is trained to the latest F-Gas standards. Treat F-gas as claimed, not verified, and ask for a certificate number before work starts.

Company: number 08205890, active at Companies House.

Manufacturer approvals: the site calls it "manufacturer-authorised" for Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric and Fujitsu. Daikin's dealer locator doesn't list it; the Mitsubishi Electric and Fujitsu checks weren't possible. MCS: not claimed.

Prices and warranty

A single split system for a bedroom or small office typically starts from around £1,200 to £1,800 fully installed. VAT status isn't stated, though the site says domestic installs are 0% VAT. Commercial prices are per project. Systems come with a manufacturer warranty whose length depends on the system; the site gives a range, so ask for the figure for your model.

Good to know

  • This listing carries a warning: its F-gas certificate isn't on a public register that we could find.
  • Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric and Fujitsu approval is claimed, not verified.
  • The 20-year claim on its site compares with September 2012 incorporation.
  • News posts were dated 6 October 2026, so the business appears active.

Good fit if

  • A published starting price for a single split
  • Split, ducted, cassette and heat pump options
  • A free site survey, usually within the week

Maybe not if

  • You need a provable F-gas certificate before you book
  • You need confirmed manufacturer approval

F-gas and other credentials

Not found on the F-gas register.

Not found: The installer says it is certified, but we looked for the certificate and could not find it on the register. That can be a register gap or an opt-out, so ask to see the certificate before you book. It is not proof the firm is uncertified.
