What they do

A J Taylor Electrical Contractors is based on the Centenary Industrial Estate in Brighton (BN2). The site says it started in 1983 with two electricians and an apprentice, and the limited company was incorporated on 17 February 1997, which gives 29 years on Companies House. Air conditioning is one division of a large electrical contractor that says it employs over fifty engineers and apprentices across all trades.

It installs and maintains commercial and domestic air conditioning and offers service and maintenance contracts. Its case studies include a Brighton home with a multi-split system (one 5.2kW condenser and three wall-mounted units), a beer cellar cooling job, and a leak repair at an NHS site in Hove. It supplies heat pump air conditioning units to homes. Coverage is Brighton, Sussex and Surrey, with maintenance contracts across Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Kent and London.

Credentials

F-gas: verified on the Quidos F-Gas register public directory, where the company is listed at its Brighton address. It is not listed on the REFCOM register. Its own pages do not mention F-gas certification, so the listing is the proof.

Company status: active at Companies House (number 03319595), accounts to 31 December 2025 filed in September 2026.

Manufacturer approvals are claimed on the site (Daikin D1 installer, plus Toshiba, Fujitsu and Mitsubishi Electric certified installer) but none is verified. We could not find the Daikin claim on the Daikin UK dealer locator, so treat all four as unconfirmed. No MCS number is published.

Prices and warranty

No prices or warranty terms are published for air conditioning. Ask for a written quote that names the units, pipework, electrical work, commissioning and VAT. The site offers a free survey or quotation. It notes a reduced 5% VAT rate for supply and installation of heat pump air conditioning units in homes.
