What they do

H & D Air Conditioning Limited works from Unit 3, 1a William Way in Burgess Hill, which is outside Brighton and Hove. Its Brighton page says it has helped clients throughout Brighton for over 25 years, with Brighton customers "only 11 miles away via the A23", and it lists a Brighton branch phone line. Companies House shows the company was incorporated on 29 October 2001, which is 24 years.

It installs, services and repairs air conditioning and heat pumps for homes, and offers commercial installation, maintenance and servicing for offices, retail, leisure, medical and hotel clients. The site also offers evaluations and repairs.

Brand logos on the air conditioning page are Panasonic, Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu and Daikin. The site doesn't say which system types (single or multi split, ducted, cassette) it fits. It also says it is Constructionline approved.

Credentials

F-gas: verified on the REFCOM register ("H & D Air Conditioning Ltd", Burgess Hill, F-Gas tick; no certificate number shown). The site also says all its engineers hold REFCOM approved F-Gas certificates.

Daikin: it claims to be a Daikin D1 Approved Installer, and Daikin's dealer locator lists "H D Air Conditioning Limited" at RH15 9AG as a D1 Business Partner. The spelling differs slightly from the trading name, so we've treated it as likely rather than confirmed. Panasonic: the site claims Panasonic Premier Solutions Partner 2025 status, which we couldn't check on a Panasonic finder.

The company is active at Companies House (number 04312742).

Prices and warranty

No prices published; ask for a written quote including the unit, installation, pipework and commissioning, and whether VAT is included. The site says all its work is backed by its own guarantee and that warranties of up to five years are available depending on the service chosen. Ask exactly what each term covers.

Good to know

  • It is based in Burgess Hill and publishes no Brighton address.
  • The founding story varies: the home page says established in 1992, the about page says it began as Home & Dry in 1983.
  • It lists branch phone lines for Burgess Hill, Crawley, Eastbourne, Horsham, Brighton and Worthing.
  • No install photos are shown, only manufacturer and certification logos.
  • Ask which brands and system types will be quoted, since the site only shows logos.

What customers say, as the installer publishes it

These are not our ratings. They are the headline scores H & D Air Conditioning shows on its own site, with the date we read them. Platforms use different scales, so compare with care.

Professional, polite, and friendly. The air-con was installed when they said, in the timeframe they'd stated. I was consulted and updated at all times.
