What they do

Dorrington Plumbing & Heating describes itself as a family-run business established in 1980. It occupies two shop fronts on Boundary Road, on the Hove and Portslade border, and has a second office in Worthing. It is a plumbing and heating firm first; air conditioning appears as one line in its list of services.

That list covers air-to-air unit installation, repairs and servicing (its wording for air conditioning), plus air-to-water heat pump installation, repairs and servicing. The site publishes no system types, no brands and no case studies for air conditioning.

It says it serves Brighton & Hove, Worthing, Shoreham, Lancing, Burgess Hill, Horsham and surrounding Sussex areas. You can book an engineer or request a free quotation online, or phone the Hove office.

Credentials

F-gas: verified on the Quidos register, where the entry is "Dorrington Plumbing And Heating" at 36-37 Boundary Road, Hove. The site says it is Gas Safe registered, F-Gas registered and fully insured. It is not listed on the REFCOM register by name, which is fine because Quidos is a separate scheme.

There's no Companies House record under the trading name, so we don't know whether it is a partnership, a sole trader or a company under another name. The 1980 start date is the business's own claim and can't be checked against a filing. No MCS number or manufacturer approval is claimed for air conditioning.

Prices and warranty

No prices published; ask for a written quote including the unit, installation, pipework, commissioning and VAT. No warranty terms are published either.

Good to know

  • Air conditioning is a side line. The /air-conditioning page showed no body copy when we loaded it on 10 October 2026, so the only description is a short list on the home page.
  • Ask which brands it fits and which systems it works on (single or multi split, ducted) because none are named.
  • It also installs and services air-to-water heat pumps, which suits you if you are comparing heating options.
  • The site footer shows 2025 and we found no dated project or news item.

  • Air conditioning repairs and servicing
  • Customers who want to book an engineer online
