What they do

A.A.C. (Southern) Ltd trades as AAC Southern from Harwood Road in Littlehampton, West Sussex. It was incorporated on 18 December 2000, so it has 25 years of history on Companies House. The site leads with business air conditioning, and also says it specialises in domestic units that blend into the decor of a room.

Its published projects show what it fits. A recent Hove job was a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries single split wall-mounted system in a bedroom, and at Brighton Film Studios it installed two Mitsubishi Heavy Industries cassette systems. The site also shows LG, Fujitsu, Daikin and Mitsubishi logos, but names no approval level for any of them. It also does servicing, repairs and maintenance contracts. The coverage statement names Brighton, Worthing, Portsmouth, Crawley and Horsham.

Credentials

F-gas: verified on the REFCOM register, certificate REF1012086, with the company shown as F-gas registered. The site says AAC is a Refcom registered company and that all of its engineers are properly qualified.

Company status: active at Companies House (number 04127082). The design page says it is an approved installer for most major manufacturers, but we did not check any manufacturer finder, so approvals are unconfirmed. No MCS number is published.

Prices and warranty

No prices are published. Ask for a written quote naming the unit and brand, pipework, electrical work, commissioning and VAT. No warranty terms are published either.

Good to know

  • The site says it aims to have an engineer at your premises within 48 hours of a breakdown call.
  • Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.
  • It uses Mitsubishi Heavy Industries equipment in its write-ups, which is a different brand from Mitsubishi Electric.
  • The home page is aimed at businesses. Domestic work is shown by the Hove project and the Findon Valley testimonial.
  • Base is in Littlehampton, outside Brighton and Hove, and the site names Brighton but not Hove in its coverage statement.

Good fit if

  • Mitsubishi Heavy Industries installs
  • Business air conditioning across Sussex
  • Servicing and repair contracts

Maybe not if

  • You want published prices or review scores
